Juliet and Christopher led this fascinating morning training event. This event covered an introduction to available documents and how best to undertake DIY research They ran through how to access and use recent records, tithe maps, ecclesiastical & tax records, estate records, manorial records, Domesday book, Anglo Saxon charters as well as other records such as books, Enclosure Awards, Estate Maps, Local Record Office, Public Record Office Kew, Historical atlas, specialist societies, local enthusiasts, as well as other key references There was also a laptop demo on the National Library of Scotland online mapping, looking at identifying ghost ponds and discussing how to restore them.
